Hello from the Lone Star State

Hi! We've been RV'ing for one year and are hooked! Started last August with our very first off-driveway road trip from Texas to the Pacific Coast Highway pulling our then brand new 2016 Forest River Rockwood 2109s Mini Lite and loved it. Today we traded our Mini Lite in for a 2018 Jayco Greyhawk 29MV motor home and are ready to start another adventure. We take possession of her later this week and can't wait to get started. Looking forward to gleaning lots of great info here and, we'll share anything we can to help others. Safe travels to all who are on the road!

Congratulations on your new RV, it seems like more and more people are moving towards motor homes, cre to share what swayed your decision? Will you be towing a vehicle?

Welcome to the forum and to the league of Greyhawk owners. We've really enjoyed ours. Only problem is, not yet being retired, I do not get enough vacation.

You're in range of some really nice camping in the Hill Country. We lived just east of you in Katy in the 1980s. Hope to get back down that way in a couple of years.

Have fun!

The desire for more space was the catalyst. Then hubby realized that he didn't want to tow a larger bumper pull trailer or convert to a fifth wheel. That led us to checking out smallish motor homes and the rest is history. We're considering a tow vehicle but undecided on which one. Thanks so much for the warm welcome!

Thanks! We know Katy well - we're an hour away and our son lives there and it's where we shop. You will be so surprised when you return there - the entire area between Hwy 59 and Interstate 10 is developed - formerly open pastures and fields. It's basically Houston now. One of the largest subdivisions, Cinco Ranch, saw some of the worst flooding during Hurricane Harvey.

We can so relate to your feelings of not enough road time - hubby is several years away from retirement and it's sometimes difficult to get our travel fix. The Hill Country is gorgeous! We've got the Hill Country winery tour on our list. Thank you again for the welcome!

We were in your area this time last year as we made our way to San Diego. We stayed in Boulder City but visited Vegas. Beautiful area! Gave our A/C a run for it's money. Thanks for the welcome!
