Lightbulb Hello - Q: Entertainment Storage

Hi, we just purchased a Jayco Melbourne with an entertainment center over the cab. Question: How do you secure items stored in this area to prevent sliding around and crashing thru the glass overhead doors. [Not sure what husband was thinking we he insisted on this layout!]

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to JOF.
We don't keep much in ours but what about bins and bungees?

We use carpet no slip matting or Some call it a router mat. It works well for us. We mainly store the camping stove and other things we don’t use much but there is the window covering (sunscreens) and extra blankets as well.

Welcome to the forum. Did you get the 24K floor plan?

Smile Thank You

Thanks everyone for the welcome. We have the 24K with the entertainment center..... husband traded our class a and picked this as a surprise! He thought it would be better for cross country. [PS, I'm the driver and had no problem with the Class A.] I would have preferred the overhead bunk. In any case...... I now need to figure out how we can use the storage. I do not want to drill any holes in the overhead for fear of creating an opportunity for leaks....

Perhaps there is a way to glue hooks on the back and bottom to secure a bungee cord.... The space is deep and long with glass doors!

Someone else suggested to use velcro to secure baskets.

I'm thinking perhaps gluing some wood trim at the base of the inside overhead cabinets to prevent baskets from sliding sideways or forward thru the glass doors and using the velcro to secure the baskets.

If anyone has found workable solutions for utilizing the overhead entertainment storage area, please share.....

It will be trial and error. I'm a seasoned camper, so I'm sure we will find a solution. I firmly believe only women should be allowed to design the inside space of rv's!
