Welcome to the forum. Some great knowledge and great people here. Way to go on camping, that's what we all want to be doing.

I never had much against FCA products until I bought a Ram. Then I saw the low build quality of the truck along with poor support from the local dealer and from FCA my opinion of the brands sank really low. Are you ready to buy a truck with electric Cummins?

Cummings has them in the works, at least for the big rigs. They've quietly been working on them for a while.

given the way the market is headed, i can’t say i’m surprised. i just can’t see how an electric motor would be able to make similar torque to a diesel engine.

Gas and Diesel engines are going away once an alternative is capable of replacing them. Cummings is getting ready for when that day comes.

i don’t see them ever going away. there’s talk, i don’t see that happening. sure, cleaner or hybrid—gone, i’m not buying. soon enough people are going to start seeing the impact of all those batteries in the electric car, and the costs of replacing them, tax advantages are declining...we’ll see.
