Hi All

As my wife and I are new members of this forum , I just would like to say G,day to all, We had Penguin outback for 4 years untill end of last year , sold it, What a great little camper, we were so happy with the outback model, we upgraded to a outback discovery, until now we have not had the time to use it, really looking forward to our maiden trip.

Welcome, lozza01. I`m not familiar with Jayco brand names in Australia, is the outback made by Jayco there? Over here they are made by Keystone, I believe. In any case welcome and enjoy the new trailer!

Welcome! Talk about a great place to go camping! Wish we could join you!

Those looks like neat models from what I could tell on the net! Are these what you have? If so, that Discovery looks really nice!

Yeah - I have been looking at their web site -- http://www.jayco.com.au

They have a much better web site than the US site. Fun to watch the factory tour and I like the accent!

Looks like they are well built to withstand the outback.

Ok...Here is a model with the door on the correct side....Also those Aussies do something neat -- they put the stickers on backwards so you can see them in your rear view mirror

G-day mate and welcome to the forum. I just looked at the Jayco brochure on the above site and didn't see one unit with a slide out .

I am having a really good time reading all about their Jayco. I am intrigued by the number of options and floorplans - you can even get all leather interiors. I also like they have all LED lighting, as well as foam insulation.

I did see a few with small slides. From what I gather, they appear to be very concerned about making them lightweight over there. Not sure if it is because of gas prices, tow vehicle availability/cost, terrain, or other factors?

I also find it interesting there is no mention of the US Jayco. According to the .au site Jayco started in 1975 with their first trailer.

I wonder, are they two separate entities, Jayco US and Jayco Aus.? They do have some interesting and very different products and descriptions. They call Travel trailers "Caravans".

We're having too much fun with this...lozza01 hasn't posted anything but his original hello...he's probably sitting there wondering what the next crazy American is gonna try to do, talk Australian, talk about the National Beer of Australia, again bring up the fact that the door is on the wrong side, etc. He's probably laughing his 'roo off right now. Anyway, welcome, again to Jaycoland USA, lozza01...as you can see we are a pretty fun bunch here.

I just thought the door was on the other side because they drive on the wrong side of the road.
