Hi from Kentucky

Hello to all my fellow Jayco owners. We picked up a new Jay Feather 22FQSW last Friday and we're looking forward to our first trip. My wife and I have been RVing for several years now. We started in a Rockwood pop-up. The pop-up was very comfortable but we soon discovered that one night stops were a bit of a pain, and that it was impossible to take down in a pouring rain without soaking the insides. After much shopping around we decided to upgrade to a 17' Casita Liberty Deluxe. For those of you not familiar with the Casita, it is a molded fiberglass unit made in Rice TX. We put over 30,000 miles on the Casita in the two and a half years we owned it, crossing the country twice and living in it for as much as five months at a time. I modified it extensively to better meet our needs. Although we loved the Casita, the cramped quarters were becoming an issue as we got older and stiffer. We went looking for something with a bit more room, a full time bed and a sofa and the Jayco fit the bill perfectly. The Casita owners group was very active and a wonderful bunch of people, and I look forward to meeting some of of you soon.

Welcome! It's a friendly bunch here, for the most part. And there's tons of experience. If you have a problem or a question, there's always someone here who's "been there, done that."

I'm new myself, having just bought my first Jayco. (Had an Outback and Coleman popups before that). So I'm getting a lot of help here, myself. And offering friendly advice when I think I can help. I'm sure you have some experience that will benefit some of us, as well!

Have seen many Casita owners on our trips and they all seemed vary happy with their small accomodations. Like you we began our RVing way back when in a Coleman popup. After our 2nd Coleman we upgraded to a TT and then to a Jayco based on referrals and recommendations. Lots of Jayco owners out there and I have found them and owners of other brands to be friendly and helpful. Think you will enjoy the larger space and features. The Casita thing is kind of a cult following like the VW van and the Airstream people. Think you'll find that the TT family is less focused on brand and more oriented to the RVing lifestyle in general. Imagine someone new is enjoying your Casita .

Enjoy the new Jayco.

Welcome! A couple years ago I ran into a very large Casita group out at Capitol Reef in Utah. Most of them were two to a campsite but there was one that had three Casitas in one camp site. They were a happy and very friendly bunch. Several weeks later, I ran into that same group at the Grand Canyon North Rim.

Smile Thanks for the welcome!

Thank you all for the kind words. We really enjoyed meeting the community of Casita owners and many of them have become good friends. I'm not sure if "cult" is quite the right word but it's not far off! They're very enthusiastic about their rigs and the RV lifestyle in general. I was afraid I would lose that with our move to a more mainstream trailer, but from looking over the forum it seems that I was happily mistaken. See you all down the road (If it ever stops raining!).

Greetings from a bit north up in Cincy. We just made the jump from a popup to a TT. Only one trip under our belts but I think I'm in love
