Smile Hi, New member, Trailer shopping.

Hi Jayco Peeps.

Dh and I live in Texas. We have two children, ages 7 & 2. We also have a cat, but she won't be traveling with us; she prefers to be home.

We are saving money for our TT and gathering information, and shopping. When shopping, we are seeing what dealers have, putting our hands on stuff, seeing what we like and do not like about different models.

We checked out the Jaycos earlier today; we like them. For the price point we can afford, they seem like well-built trailers. I will have lots of questions in the future.

I'm looking forward to traveling with my family, minus the cat.

Welcome Octopus Prime. Let us know what tow vehicle you'll be using and maybe we can help narrow it down a little.

We will be towing with a Ford F-150 3.5L v6 with Ecoboost with a factory tow package. The towing capacity is 10,200 lbs, but we would like to stay below 8,000 lbs gross.

Right now, we are really partial to the JayFeather MBH (bunkhouse model with murphy bed), but I'm noticing I'm not seeing many. And some are advertised at prices higher than MSRP! If that is the case, I'll find a new favorite. lol

Welcome to JOF. Enjoy the search.

I know many who travel with cats. I just don't get it either. Unless they can drive the truck, what's the point?

We purchased our Jay Feather 22BHM back in May. Love the floor plan with the Murphy bed.

Welcome to the group and take your time. I towed a 28BHBE that weighed in at just over 8K loaded with that same truck and it was good but I felt it was just a bit too little truck. I upgraded to an F250 for a MUCH better tow experience.

Welcome to JOF! Your limiting factor on your tow vehicle will be its payload capacity . Check the limits on the driver's door. The towing capacity shouldn't be an issue.
