Talking HOWDY from Florida

New to the site so I wanted to introduce myself. I have been on another forum due to owning a different brand rig. I live between Orlando and Daytona. I am having quite a time trying to get some info on towing capabilities for my "possible" new rig. I have searched google, bing, and the official Jayco RV site, as well as on this forum. If I missed something please let me know. I am thinking about buying a 2017 SEISMIC 4212, all decked out. Got one heck of a deal locally, almost to good to pass up. I have a 2004 F 350 CC DRW 2wd. I am worried that this is not enough truck for that huge 5th wheel. I am all about safety and staying within tow vehicle specs. Anyone have any info they can share. I don't want to buy a truck to match the rig as this is a good truck with low miles. I will buy the rig to match my truck. Thanks for any help.

Rob

Welcome to the forum.

I can't help with your question, but there are others here that should be able to. One question they will ask is 'What is the PAYLOAD of your truck?' There should be a sticker on the truck's drivers door frame that will have that info.

Seismic appears to have a dry weight of 15600 lbs and a possible weight of 20000.

Welcome to JOF.

I think @RVermont is close in the picture provided, but if that was the GM Towing Guide, there is another page with the 5th wheel limits. Those look like bumper pull limits. Sorry, Chevy guy, so I don't have the information.

Wait, I'm not sorry that I'm a Chevy guy, or I'm not a sorry Chevy guy, I just don't have the right page for you And I'm sorry about that because I'm also Canadian and we apologize for everything. But I am sure that Ford has the info you need in THEIR towing guide on their website.

Happy trails with the new Seismic!

Bankr63,

If you look again the chart says fifth wheel towing.

The ratings were a lot lower in 2004.

Oops, my bad, that is the correct page. I read the line under that said Loaded Trailer Weight and assumed. I think the GM one gives both Pin and Trailer Weight in the same chart for 5ers. Been looking at these a lot lately as I plot my next upgrade.
