Howdy from the heartland

Hi folks,
I'm new to the idea of RV-ing, but I did get a good truck last year, and I'been loooking online in earnest recently, settling on two brands: Keystone or Jayco. SO much to learn such a short time. I can pull 14K, but want to keep[ the trailer around 10K loaded. I want a TT with a bunkhouse, outdoor kitchen, a bathroom exit door, and durable, reliable slides, somewhere in the $20K ballpark a few years old. Keystone Hideout is one I was looking at, but I like the idea of aluminum framing. Any thoughts ideas, even aspersions are appreciated!

Welcome from Western NY State! I've heard a rumor going around here, that a few of us are kinda fond of Jaycos. I'm not sure who started it.

Welcome to the Jayco Owner's Forum from South Georgia. We are on our 3rd Jayco in 20 years so I guess we are sold on Jayco, even with everyone's problems. All brands have the same problems. Local dealer relationship is very important as I have never had to leave my rig for over a week for any problem.

Welcome to the forum and good luck with your research on a potential new travel trailer.

If you are brand new at RVing, take a look at how you will be using your new RV....will it be left at a seasonal site all year, moved from place to place often, used at national and state parks, extended boondocking, etc. All of these may help dictate the exact size, length, and options that may fit your RV lifestyle best.

Good luck with your new hobby and please feel free to ask any questions you may have.

Thank you! I'm leaning toward a bunkhouse with an outdoor kitchen, and I almost bit on one from another mfr that seems nearly ideal, but the Jayco roof construction looks to be way better. SO much to learn about construction and serviceability, accessibility, and so forth, that I'm sure glad I joined a forum before buying a big rolling house. Looking forward to this!
