Smile Hybrid Newbies from NY

Hello, we just enjoyed our first few trips with our new-to-us 2013 X17Z. As ex-tenters, we love the hybrid feel, letting in as much sunlight and breeze as possible. Here to peek into the vast stores of wisdom and experience that so many long-timers have built up!

Wow, Rochester and still camping? Color me impressed! Welcome to JOF, lots of great advice here! Perhaps we can kick off with the 'How to Winterize' threads??

Welcome from Bellingham, Wa. I grew up Rochester & Victor ( near the mall) off High St.
One mod you might like to do over the winter is cut out front and/ or rear Lexan widows for the cold camping you might do in early spring & late fall. When not in use they slip right under the mattress. Pic. is before I removed the clear wrap all the way.
The sheets are a little expensive but I bought them at 1/2 the price by knowing my measurements b4 I went into Lowe’s and finding sheets that were chipped on the ends that would be cutoff anyway and given a 50% discount.

Welcome from Niagara Falls! We love our little hybrid--there's only two of us. Since we seldom camp where there is power it's important to have the airflow they provide for sleeping at night. I've done a lot of mods--check the "mods" section.
