Smile I just bought an X17Z.

Yes, I know it's oft-maligned and I'm towing with a potentially underpowered car (Pathfinder with 5300 lb towing capacity and trailer is 3000 dry). But it's what I wanted and I know it will technically work, at least for awhile until I figure out whether I want to sell the trailer or sell the car.

Hello! I'm in Austin, TX and am looking forward to camping - it's 70 degrees today. #nativetexan #gladimnotinwashingtonstateanymore

On my list of places to go:
  • McKinney Falls for the shakedown cruise
  • Caprock Canyon
  • Palo Duro Canyon
  • North Padre Island
  • Big Bend

then I'll venture to New Mexico, though I may need to upgrade my TV for that. I think I could spend months there, and more all over the Southwest. My favorite place I've ever seen is Arches National Park - I was there for an hour while passing through moving back to Austin from Seattle so I couldn't stay long.

Howdy!

Congratulations on the Camper!
Keep us posted on your camping trips with it.
Trailering wise, don't be in a hurry, slow down, you should be fine.
Enjoy!

Thank you! It was a little hairy getting home from Waco - going through Temple, TX by myself late at night with lots of construction on the interstate narrowing it down to two narrow lanes with big concrete barriers plus lots of semis passing me was not ideal, but I made it alright and figure that's as bad as it will get. Most of the places I want to go are wide open beautiful country roads

Hey congrats
You will have a blast just slow down and enjoy as others have said. We are aware of the Temple construction as we travel to San Antonio several times a year to visit our grand daughter(her mom and dad too!!)

Welcome to the forum and happy camping. We too love Arches National Park. Great place for hiking and seeing wonderful natural sites.
