I've been LANDLUBBERATED

Lived aboard a 71 ft sailboat for 14 years but now downgraded (upgraded?) to a Jayco Grayhawk for my 83 birthday coming soon.

A lot cheaper to maintain and more portable.

Welcome aboard! (pun intended)

Congratulations! I like the idea of a big boat, but the maintenance always sounds worse than a camper.

Happy early Birthday

We made the change after I had some heavy duty back surgery. It destroyed my agility which would have been a problem when anchored and a line squall comes through. We now have a Hummingbird that we have put about 25,000 miles on. We are enjoying the new vistas and I've found that campgrounds are similar to marinas. Also if we drag anchor I've got serious problems.

Welcome. Loved Beaufort when we sailed the ICW a few summers ago.

Welcome to JOF — and happy birthday! While I love our Jayco, i love our 25-foot Catalina more. I’d die for a 71-footer!

Good chance you visited us, back then we owned Hemingways bar/restaurant on the waterfront park.
