Jayco Baja popup

We are new to the camping world! We just bought a first camper, it is a 2007 jayco baja 10 y. The air condition blows cool on low for about 6 hours then stops blowing cold. Can you repair them or it better to just buy a new one?

Welcome to the Forum from Western New York State!

The roof air conditioners can be repaired with the exception of Freon recharging. They're a sealed system from the manufacturer. Other devices can be replaces, such as the start and run capacitors, and fan motor. How does it function on high? Is it shutting down because it's reaching the temperature inside on the thermostat?

Sometimes running the AC with the fan setting on low doesn't move enough air and the unit freezes up. Try running the fan on high and see if it helps.

Ac

I recently bought it from my aunt and uncle, they said the ac would freeze up and not work right quick on high, so i have only tried it on low and it ran and cooled good for about 6 hours then it stopped blowing cold. Any wY to fix that or will i need to just buy a new one? Thanks

Before anything else, check your coils for dirt and dust buildup that may be preventing airflow.

This thread will describe what to look for.

If it's working well for the 6 hours, then the Freon charge is good. Outside high humidity will get inside a pop up easily, and it'll freeze up. Try it on high fan, and let us know exactly what happens.
