Unhappy Jayco Travel Trailer 334RLOK

I purchased a new 2021 Jayco 334 RLOK travel trailer. We currently own a 2018 Grand Design Reflection 312BHTS that is located in Tampa, FL on our annual site that we will be selling this fall. A couple things I noticed that has happened, more than once, and will need addressing is the exterior storage compartment doors & the weak magnetic holders that do not hold well. Looking in the compartment the other day the door came down and whacked me hard in the head causing a pretty bad cut and a lot of bleeding. The magnetic holders are very weak compared to what I am accustomed to on our Grand Design. Any suggestions on how to remedy this problem. I was thinking of installing some gas struts to the (2) big storage compartment doors. Has anyone else had this situation or addressed this problem?

Thanks!

Welcome to the forum!

That's exactly what I'd do...add struts. They sell kits and it's fairly simple with a couple tools.

I'd make the dealer replace them under warranty. Not the same trailer, but mine hold well on my exterior door.

I just ordered some gas struts on Amazon. Too much of a pain to take back to dealership to change out. Besides all the magnets are about the same, they all seem pretty weak but they are on much smaller doors and that is not an issue. Just wonder if others had the same problem with the big cargo doors.
