Just Arrived

Hi Ya'll,
I'm a new member to this forum. I just traded my old fiver for a new to me 2010 30.5 DBSA fiver. I have been on the forum for the brand of my old camper for a few years and have found that there is a tremendous amount of knowledge on these forums. I already have one question for the Jayco forum. Where do you drain the fresh water tank on my unit. I have winterized it already and when I went to drain the fresh water tank I cannot find a drain valve anywhere under the camper.
I live in the beautiful foothills of The Smoky Mountains in "God's Country" East Tennessee. I am an avid hiker, backpacker, and camper. My wife and grandsons (all 3 boys) love camping. I look forward to the Jayco forum and what I can learn about Jayco and what I can share with others.

Welcome to the forum! You may get better response to your drain question in the Fifth wheel forum.

Love the smokies... I'm not too terribly far from there in Hendersonville, TN. Do you happen to know a good place in / around the mountains for camping... is there such a place that has full hookups. I've looked a little and was surprised that I was having a hard time finding a place that wasn't somewhat far from the mountains which was kind of the whole point of camping there really.

As for your FW drain, I have a 2004 Designer 29RLTS, and the drain is directly under the tank at the rear of the 5er. It is a white plastic twist valve sticking out low on the side, and is very close to the two overflow drain tubes. Yours has to be on the tank, so maybe there is a removable shield that is hiding it.

I camp a lot in Townsend, Tn. It is about 2 miles from the entrance to The GSMNP. It is maybe 8 miles from Cades Cove a wonderfully beautiful place. There are several full hookup CG's in Townsend. I like Lazy Daze the best but there are several including a large KOA. Lazy Daze is a small CG maybe 60 sites with about 12 sites with a deck that hangs out over the Little Pigeon River and all sites are full shade. Check them out on the web. Townsend is about 15 miles from Pigeon Forge the busiest place in the Smokies. Enjoy!! If you have questions message me.

I'll have to check into the Lazy Daze. My family and I stayed in Townsend many years ago long before we had a travel trailer and it is a very nice and relaxing place from what I recall. I didn't know about the campgrounds there since it wasn't a factor for us back then.
