Just Bought a 2021 Jayco Seneca 37K
We had bought a 2020 Thor Tiburon, and loved it, but after driving across country (Florida to Seattle) really discovered that it was a bit too small (and wiggly from wind) for long time travel – SO – we traded up to a 2021 Jayco Seneca 37K – and LOVE the layout and all the new space! We live in Florida, and found it in Texas – so a 3 day drive to go get her…
The Ugly on delivery:
The outside radio did not work. They sent us a new one, but it turns out that it was wired to the ignition, and not the batteries, so would only worked if the engine was on. Husband fixed that and now it all works!
House power battery disconnect light switch (by entry step) did not work. Husband took it apart, and found that the wire was not connected.
Combo washer/dryer was leaking when it drained. Had to take that one in locally to get it fixed, as guys in Texas couldn’t find the problem soon enough before we left to drive back home. Just fixed today!!
Backup camera was installed wrong, so it only looked straight down to see bumper. WHAT! Husband had to get up there to turn it around to fix it.
Could not get any cable television when it was all connected up – so after following the wires –discovered that the cable wire was connected to the Satellite Connection! This was found in the control panel that was located BEHIND the fireplace. Switched it over to connect to cable – and all worked!
Refrigerator door was dented on pick up. It swings too wide, and someone let it swing into the fireplace corner – and bam! – dent! Dealer is sending us a new door – which we are still waiting for.
Oil leak – took rig to Freightliner to fix, and they did.
All in all – not TOO bad. We have learned that you really need to be a well rounded fix-it person in order to own a rig – as from the get go – there were lots of little things to fix and wires to tie up. Very luckily, may husband is!
In the first month of owning her, we have done several modifications. Will share them when I figure out how to!
