Just joined

Howdy from NE Florida. Just wanted to introduce ourselves. My wife and I bought our Octane 222 Toy Hauler in July. We have been so busy with work and Grandkids we didn't get a chance to use it til last weekend. This weekend we have a site at Fort Wilderness at Dizzy World.

I started camping with my family in a tent while I was in Boy Scouts, over 50 years ago. We then graduated to a "Tent trailer", before pop-ups! Then to a 13ft Travel Trailer then went big time with a 17.5 ft Travel Trailer.

My girlfriend (now wife of 37 years) and I started camping in a Ford van my Dad and I customized.

My wife and I have owned 3 motorhomes, one StarCraft Hybrid Toy Hauler and at least 8 pop-ups (one of them was a Jayco).

I ride a 2002 Honda Goldwing GL1800. I also am certified by the Motorcycle Safety Council of USA as a Ridercoach and one weekend a month teach people how to ride. Hence the Toy Hauler.

I bought the 222 from a gentleman in West Florida who had purchased it in April of this year, took it on one trip to the Ft. Myers area and then had some MAJOR health issues which forced him to put it on the market. I got a GREAT deal. I felt a little guilty benefitting from his problems but my wife said he had to get rid of it through no fault of ours and someone was getting a great deal so we may as well be the ones.

Looking forward to many happy years of camping with the 222 and spoiling out granddaughters when they come with us!

Happy Camping!

Welcome from CFL. I grew up camping at Ft. Willie (Dad was a manager there) and really like it. Except the part about paying for it now, lol. We miss River Country and swimming in the lake.

Welcome to JOF and to making memories in the Octane.

My youngest son is a long time motor cop and teaches motorcycle safety on weekends thru a organization called Faith Riders.

Howdy to you. Congratulations on your Octane and welcome to the JOF.

DW and I have 'lots of parallels' with your history: We have been married about the same length of time (38yrs), started out in tents, went camping with our youngest in a tent trailer (not a popup), bought a class B MH, and ended up with our Jayflight.

We're also very fond of WDW. Our next reservation at 'The Fort' is a ways off; the 2017 Food & Wine Festival. And tentatively back to The Fort January 2018 and then for the 2018 Food & Wine Festival.

Welcome to JOF...many of us here started out camping in a tent. It builds a real appreciation for spending time outdoors. Taking those grandkids with you is going to be a blast...love it each time I take mine out, and pretty sure they do also.
