Good afternoon, My wife Karen and I have enjoyed camping for many years now. After starting out in a Class A and then moving on to a fifth wheel, we purchased our Class C in 2013. As my work has required more weekend warrior trips, as opposed to long term vacations, we have enjoyed it immensely.

I have reviewed many of the threads, but I failed to see any mention of furniture disinigrating. It is the leatherette (ultraleather) sleeper and the cabin chairs. Both have recently begun to totally dissolve. Have any others faced this issue? Is it normal? The Class C is three years old and well maintained. The damage in has occurred since returning from our last trip Dec. 2nd 2017.

I certainly would appreciate any input/suggestions from your members.

It seems quite odd that furniture in a 3 year old RV should suddenly start to disintegrate. Especially since it is more than one piece that is involved. It definitely is not normal. Is it possible that the furniture was cleaned with a chemical or some other product that could have caused this? Or was the RV exposed to an environment (dust storm, weather related, storage, animals, etc.) where the windows were open or somehow something came in contact with the furniture? Usually furniture falling apart is due to abuse or just plain poor quality of material or labor or both. Normal wear and tear will occur over time, not from returning from your most recent trip. You sound like experienced travelers so I would be inclined to think something happened quite recently. Good luck in your investigation and do let us know if you find out anything.

x2 on the cleaning solution. I’d start investigating from there.
