Just joined the Jayco fan club!

Hello friends,

I'm very happy I've found this Jayco owner's forum, I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone.

Anyway, I'm a single teacher in northern Alberta, and I just bought my first Jayco, a Jay Flight 285 RLS SLX. I'm trading in my smaller Springdale, and this is my first Jayco, and first trailer with a slide. I've never towed anything this long, but I have a Ram 3500 diesel, so I think I'll be alright.

This trailer is a nice upgrade from what I currently have, but I don't get to pick it up till the school year is over, June 21. I'm also a cancer survivor, and I'm treating myself well. I'll camp in it all over Alberta for the whole summer.

So the SLX is a base model, and I'm ok with that. The only thing I was surprised about was that the water heater only runs on gas (I'm having that changed to a gas/electric) and that the mirror in the bathroom is just that, a mirror. Does anyone know any way to get a medicine cabinet for in there?

I look forward to learning from this community!

thanks!

Congratulations Kevin,

Sounds like a great plan that you're about to execute. You can find a medicine cabinet at a big box store that suits you.

Stay healthy and enjoy!

Jeff

I'd start by taking some measurements of the space to see what will fit. Take a picture of the space as well for reference. Besides height and width take the depth measurement. The one think that stands out on my stock cabinet is how far it sticks out away from the wall. When I bring my face down into the sink I feel that I'm going to run into my cabinet. Once you find one that you like mount it to studs behind the wall. Now I'm assuming that you're going to mount yours above the sink but I don't have the same camper as you and am not familiar with your bathroom layout.

Sorry but I can only speak generically here.

You might find that adding mods and personalizing your camper is part of enjoying the whole RV experience - hopefully so!

Happy shopping.
