Looking at joining the Jayco family...

Hey all.
My family and I have been looking into getting an RV for several years now, and are hoping to have one by the end of the year. My wife and daughter love the Jay Flight 33RBTS, plenty of space plus privacy for all. Of course, they're still not decided between a "pully kind" or "drivey kind". The sales guys love those technical terms my wife uses. I look forward to getting as much help and info from this awesome looking community as possible.

Thanks

Well let me be the first to welcome you to the forum. i'm a recent addition to the Jayco family as a step-cousin, since I own the Entgra Vision (drivey kind), technically a different brand, but produced by Jayco. i've had a good experience so far with my dealer and my manufacturer, so i have no complaints yet. Compared to some i've seen the quality/value is head and shoulders above others.

If we can help, please don't hesitate to ask.

Welcome from Alabama.
I drivey my truck to pully my wife's trailer. Best of both worlds.

Welcome to the forum and best of luck in your search for your RV.

Before you make a final decision on type Travel Trailer vs. Motorhome and size small vs. large, take a little while and discuss how you will use the unit. Will it be at a permanent site, will you be traveling to only developed campgrounds, national/state parks, etc? Will you be boondocking? All of these questions will help tailor your unit to your needs.

Best of luck and please feel free to ask any questions you may have.

DK-Drivey Kind

Tell your wife I'm just teasing. Welcome Aboard!

Welcome to the board, if you or your family has any questions about the 33RBTS please fire them away, we picked up one for our family last year and LOVE it! There are a few downsides to the unit that others have referenced that you should consider before making a buying decision. The biggest cons we have found:

- it is big, nearly 38' long from hitch to bumper, makes fitting in spots at some of our favorite state parks a bit of a challenge

- it is big, I would strongly recommend at least a 250 probably more like a 350 to pull it. I have an F250 diesel and it is at the high end of the towing/payload specs for my truck

- it is big, many storage places don't have outside storage spots big enough for it

- I am actually surprised that the unit only has one AC, though we really only had issues on super hot muggy days (90+) or in full sun. If we had a shaded site it was always fine

The pros:

- it is big, like you said, private spaces for everyone. We have 3 boys, but we can close the door to their bedroom and they can enjoy a movie or xbox in their quarters and we can have adult time in the main cabin.

-I like having the bathroom right near the main cabin

- The outdoor kitchen is awesome. The kitchen door acts as an extension of the awning so you have like 26' of covered outdoor area

- The main cabin space is fantastic with the opposing slides. Makes cooking and chilling in the main cabin very enjoyable for the less than ideal weather days, plus the pantry is a must for a large family!

Good luck in your camper search!
