New 5er owners in Michigan

Hello to everyone-

My family and I (wife, myself and 2 young daughters) just purchased a 2017 Jayco Eagle HT 29.5BHDS and cannot wait to get it home come springtime- our dealer is storing it for us for now.

We started off with tents and 30 year old pop-ups back before we were married, then finally bought a new Rockwood pop-up back in 2013 since we were towing with a Volvo station wagon. Since then my work vehicle/DD became an F350 PSD so we clearly had to upgrade our trailer as well and bought a 2016 Keystone Bullet last spring. In hindsight, we should have done more research because we needed/wanted something a bit bigger with some more privacy between the adults and kids, plus we started to get concerned on the overall build quality of the Keystone. I know that pretty much all RV's today are built light, fast and cheap, but the Jayco stood out to us when we were shopping this fall.

The 29.5BHDS has absolutely everything we need- a nice, private master bedroom, an awesome living room layout, big bunks that even my 4 year old can climb into without a ladder, and that awesome new galvanized outdoor kitchen. Plus, now we can pull our Mastercraft ski boat behind the Jayco and don't have to drive separate when we want to take the boat. (I still need to add a doubles endorsement to my CDL)

Looking forward to the camping season and to learning more from everyone here- I used the forums quite a bit as we were researching our purchase the past few months and you all were a great help.

Thank You much-

We don't have any good photos of the new rig since the inspection/delivery happened inside a shop, but here's one of the family on delivery day and a few of our old setups.

Welcome to JOF

I see you have visited Northwoods Wholesale Outlet (Pinconning) and the Houghton/Hancock area (UP) ...., both great Michigan "must-see"!

I decided I wanted the new trailer at home instead of at the dealer so we could start to tinker with it over the winter, so she made her maiden voyage home today.

Congratulations! We have the 29.5 BHOK and love it! I'll have to go look at the floor plan and see what the differences are.

Well it looks like we will be "full timing" a bit in our 29.5BHDS. We have been wanting to sell our small starter house for about 3 years now and finally pulled the trigger and listed it last week...and it sold for cash at asking price in 5 days! We've signed a purchase agreement on a beautiful new to us home, but there will be a 5-7 week period in between where we have decided to live in the trailer at my parents house so that we can use their bathrooms (and kitchen here and there) but still have our own personal space in the trailer. It's sitting on a concrete pad and plugged into a dedicated 30A outlet.

Let the adventure begin...
