New(bee) to Trailers, Pop-ups and Jayco

Hi, I'm Janice in reality, Roux when not being real(?). Go figure. Anyway thought I'd drop in and introduce myself, tell you a brief (I hope) bit about me and all that sort of thing.

First, I'm an artist, sometimes a writer, hoping to be an avid traveler and retired. I started tent camping about four years ago, loved it, but didn't get to do much, stuff happens. All this time, and more, I've been trying to build my own Gypsy Caravan, a dream that isn't going to come true. Sadly.

This year I started looking for an affordable trailer instead. I happened, literally, upon an older pop-up by Jayco. I didn't fall in love but I did fall in like. The price helped and thus I bought a 2006 Jayco Select 12HW, currently christened "The Beast". He (yes, he's a he) hadn't been loved a lot in the past few years, so I decided I could take care of that and am in the process of trying to do so.

As they say ignorance is bliss. Ignorantly, but merrily, I go along discovering and learning as I go. Bless Jayco for having an archive of user's manuals. Without my user's manual I'd be lost. Oh heavens, I haven't been short have I? Sorry about that.

(muttering to self, short, write short, jeesh! Darn did I post this in the right place? mutters more...)

Welcome! We loved our three popups but have graduated to a standard camper.

Popups are easy to pull, easy to store and loads of fun.

Take your time and as they say, smell the roses!

ps if you need advice on your camper or camping, this is the place!
