Thanks , I'm happy with the trailer so far but just have a problem with the Hitch that I am hoping to get sorted this week. I see there are quite a lot of Calgary members also.

Hey Guy's. I'm having a problem with my newly installed 5th wheel hitch. I am getting the back & forth movement with the trailer when driving, i believe you call " chucking " ,correct me if I'm wrong . One of the brackets they installed on the truck frame doesn't touch the frame at one end . There are 2 studs that run right through the frame for the exhaust hanger & the bracket sits on top of one of them, leaving a gap big enough to get a screw driver in. I'm wondering if even a little movement here when driving would cause the movement.
Here is a pic. Thanks !!

What type of pin box do you have? If the bolts are tight that gap should not be an issue. Assuming the bracket is sitting tightly on 2 rivet heads. I experienced chucking on my first 5th wheel where I had a standard pin box. The Mor-Ryde system isolates the pin from the trailer by rubber blocks which allows the trailer to surge without affecting the TV.

I recommend you open a new thread and you will get more feedback. The thread title and fact that it's still listed under "Welcome Mat" is hurting your visibility.

Good luck...

X2...., BIL has the Mor-Ryde on his Pinnacle and enhanced his towing quality.

Calgary5ver,

I'm not a fan of seeing any hitch mounting plates/brackets/rails with "gaps"......, I would take your TV back to the RV dealer for an inspection. If they say it will not effect the functionality of the hitch, have them put it in writing. While they are inspecting the mounting plate/bracket I would have them confirm the specified torque settings (@ nuts) and/or that the bolt heads are properly seated (with you present).

For future reference, confirm that the RV dealership provided you with the hitch rail kit installation instructions.

Bob

Thanks for the info guy's. It's just the standard pin box on the trailer. I took it back in & they have removed the slide part of the Hitch & that has taken most of the movement away.
Sorry if I posted this in the wrong thread originally ..
