New From Idaho (Boise)

Just purchased a 2018 Whitehawk 27rb. Hopefully we can get one or two short shadedown trips in before winter.

We recently sold our 2016 Forest River Surveyor 240RBS for something a little bit larger (mandated by occasional grandkid sleepovers). Hopefully the shakedown process will go better than it did with our FR product. It took us almost 2 years to get the kinks worked out. We've heard lots of good things about Jayco products. Herre's hoping things go smoother this time around. :-)

Congratulations on the new Whitehawk and welcome to the forum. Just passed through Boise on our way to visit friends in Beaverton, Oregon. Nice country in the Boise area.

Congrats Renderspud, Enjoy your new camper!

I'm considering heading up to Eagle to visit family at the beginning of January.
Would you recommend the drive, towing, from Southern California that time of year?

Best,

Jeff

Welcome to the Forum and congrats on that new rig. Hope all goes well. I have had superb service out of three Jayco units over the last 20 years.

Thanks Jeff!

As far as pulling up this direction towards the beginning of January, I have to be honest and say that I probably wouldn't do it. Last year we were pummeled with snow and it was unseasonably cold. Many of the projections for this year say that we might be in for the same thing. We called it "SNOWMAGEDDON". It definitely wasn't the typical winter.

You could definitely watch the weather and make an educated decision as January rolls in but I would also look at the passes you will have to navigate as you head North. Coming up through Utah or Nevada or cutting across through the top of California could be a challenge that time of year.

Hope I'm not being too much of a downer.

Sounds like sage advise. I appreciate it.

Cheers!

Good Morning Renderspud - Are you happy with your 27RB? We are actually looking at this model right now for full timing. We currently have a 2008 Jay Feather 25F that we love but the new one is set up much better for our needs.

Hey kimsfa, We were only able to take the new Jayco out once (Idaho winters) since we purchased it. That said, WE LOVE IT! We love the front window. We were able to take it out over the Thanksgiving weekend and lay in bed and look up and see the stars! It was so cool. The bedroom closet is another favorite. We are now officially empty nesters so the "couples coach" layout with overflow for a few guests now and then feels right. We also love the outside kitchen with plumbed sink.

So, so far so good! Good luck on your research and potential purchase!
