New from OZ

Hi new member from Australia. Recently updated my Jayco Eagle Outback which I owned for 10 years to a Jayco Expander Outback 14.44-4. Hopping to find some of those never ending tips and tricks.

Well welcome indeed. I look forward to hearing about your rig and experiences!

Please tell us more about your RV and your tow vehicle too.

You can certainly get some great info from this site. I'm just not sure how many will be familiar with your model camper up here in the states. All kinds of universal topics between us though, I'm sure!

Cheers,

Jeff.

Welcome from Wisconsin. Can you post some pics of your Jayco Expander Outback? I think alot of us would like to see the differences from what we have here.

Thanks for the welcome. I tow with a 2011 Toyota Hilux. It's turbo diesel 3lt 4x4. Utes as we call them are the biggest selling cars in Australia, Toyota, Ford, Isuzu, Mitsubishi etc. Mine tows my van really well although it's not as powerful as the current models.

Some of the extra mods for Australian travelling include
Bulbar, driving lights, side and rear bars, 2inch lift with heavy duty suspension, long range full tank, off road tires

As mentioned my Jayco is an expander outback poptop.
Expander meaning front bed folds out, larger models also have one at the rear.
Out back is built higher, stronger frame and extra standard equipment.
Poptop means the roof raises up. Much better for reduced weight and wind resistance.

Mine has air conditioner/heater, gas/elec hot water with 12v pump, 2x 80ltr watertanks, rear external shower, TV, stereo with external speakers, 3way fridge, gas/elec stove/grill, microwave, rangehood, solar panel and battery, bike rack, front fold out double bed, rear bunk beds, roll out awning

Except for the picture of the 'croc' (and driving on the 'wrong side' ), it makes me want to RV down under.
