New from Seattle

My wife and I just bought a new 2013 Jayco Jay Flight 24FBS on Saturday. It's our first ever trailer and we really love the layout and quality so far. We hope to get it out this coming weekend for its first trip! We're towing with our 2012 F150 5.0 and so far it's doing we'll.

Your tougher than we are, Ken. We live in AZ (lived in Sea-Oly area 30 yrs) and we are not getting out until end of February. Don't forget your foul weather gear.

Welcome fellow Wash-a-tonians! Hope you get out in your trailer. We just spent 3 nights at Bayview State Park and had pretty decent, cool, weather. Water is off but electric on and can fill tank at dump station.

Welcome! I didn't know there were so many Washingtonians here. My home base (mailing address mainly) is in Milton WA, but I decided to get away from the cold damp WA winter and have been spending time in southern AZ and CA.

After a quick jaunt back to Kansas next month to work on an investment property and put it up for sale, I'll head back to WA to enjoy the summer and early fall weather. Then I'll head back south in October or November.

I too am from washington, and am fairly new to RV-ing! We just bought our 2013 Jayco White Hawk 29SQB, and are taking it to taidnapam state park on Mayfield Lake this weekend. Any Washingtonians have any must see destinations in the evergreen state?

Bayview is actually one of the parks we were considering for our maiden voyage the next few weeks. Was it busy or did you have an easy time finding a good spot? Most parks seem pretty full on the summer, but hoping we can just wing it and show up and get a spot until April or so.

we always go to Cape Disappointment State Park over Spring break which is the first week in April and have to make reservations almost a year in advance. and at Fort Stevens which is across the Columbia River in Oregon the summer is already almost booked. again you almost have to book a year in advance its getting hard to find a place that you can just show up and get a spot anymore and its hard to plan your vacation a year in advance.

if you dont require hook-ups we love Lodgepole NFS just over Chinook Pass-Hwy 410. From there we day trip back up to Sunrise on east side of Mt Rainier. Lots of easy to difficult trails & gorgeous scenery. We also like Klipchuck NFS just over Washington Pass on Hwy 20-N Cascades. Good birding spring and fall and easy 20 minutes into Winthrop. You can reserve at Lodgepole. We have always got a good spot at Klipchuck. We also really like Grayland Beach State Park near Westport, on the ocean loops but you need reservations early! Pacific Beach State Park north of Ocean Shores is a great little park, again reservations!

"prime" spots were full but electric loop was nearly empty at 1:30 Friday. We were there in October and had our choice of several good spots. Go for a drive to Samish Is and out to Bow and you will see dozens of Bald Eagles and Osprey.
