Thanks for the welcome, especially Steve/SloPoke for all his personal assistance on setting up to tow using a car hauler. JOF info has proved invaluable and I’m quickly learning my way around our Seneca. Here’s a short list of things I’ve had to repair;
1) Rear wheel forward fender liners - one broke away on drive down I-10, folded up on to exhaust and melted. I’ve got a temp fix on it now, waiting the temperatures to drop before climbing under the chassis for this one
2) Shower door rollers – Dixie RV said they would send new ones many times, installed heavy duty double roller guides I found on Ebay
3) Refrigerator – Lost all food on way home from purchase, painters left inside of top vent blocked with masking tape that had been painted to match body
4) Entertainment center/Fireplace – Front fascia came off in I-75 construction area, reassembled, glued and screwed, also modified with built in 4” coaxial speakers, 2.1 channel amp, 6 1/2 “ Sub, topped off with galley rail
5) Main slideout would not close correctly – Conduits carrying power installed incorrectly damaging side
6) Bedroom headboard slideout wouldn’t close on bottom edge leaving 3/4” gap – Plastic sliders installed incorrectly were cutting into wood frame, removed, cut to correct size, turned 90 deg and reinstalled. I then added a frame and replaced the luan with lightweight ¼” sanded plywood
7) Cab wind noise – Thanks JOF for the info on fixing this, I also adjusted the U channel around the glass, made a big difference
8) Tie wrapped wires under cab seats, mine were hanging all over – Another JOF find
The rest have been simple items like trim coming off, door adjustments, etc
Thanks again,
Gary and Kim
