New Greyhawk coming soon!

We ordered a 2015 Greyhawk 31DS on November 18. The one on the lot had an entertainment system over cab and we needed the bed for son & family to come with us. Told that the next time Jayco would manufacture that model was Feb '15. So it should be here soon. We went from backpacking to car tent camping, to a Jayco TT with a rear kitchen. After driving on I-80 in Virginia and getting sucked over into the next lane by 16 wheelers, my DH decided that maybe putting a hole in his truck for a fifth wheel wouldn't be so bad. We had 2 5W's (portable gen) over the next several years, and took our big dream vacation out west last year: 15,000 miles, National Parks in 9 states, plus 8 states that didn't have any. Took about 3 months. It was great. But on that trip we decided that a MH would suit us better, i.e. access to BR and Frig during drive time being good. Can't wait! Now we just have to figure out the difference on the power stuff from a 5W!

Congratulations on the Grayhawk!

We struggled with moving from our class-B to either a trailer or a class-C. We'll miss the access you mentioned, but eventually our coin-tosses ended in favor of a trailer.

Enjoy the discovery of your Grayhawk.

Congratulations. We have certainly enjoyed our Greyhawk and have been very pleased at the lack of problems encountered. Wishing you the same.

Smile Thanks for replies

Thanks to everyone. We looked at this & other forums, and found that Greyhawk owners seemed to be very happy. It already has the auto levelers, Bilsteins, and other items already installed, and then there's the Jayco construction which has a good rep.

I completely missed the fact that you are in Carthage, NC. Heck, that almost makes us neighbors. Morrow Mountain State Park just to your west is one of our favorite nearby places to camp.

We got a new 31DS last month and are very pleased with it. There were a few things (search here) but all in all it is great. One of the things that bugged me the most was the bathroom door, when you open it all the way the door hits the wall on the door handle. I put a door bumper on the wall so it does not hit anymore.

Also if you can when you pick up the rig have the dealer install the Bluetooth microphone for the radio. It is not installed from the factory. I called about this and was told that the mic is in the package.

Also I have installed MaxAir covers on both vents.

Also I had to fix the tv mount in the rear bedroom so the tv would angle down. As it was the tv ws to flat to the wall and could not be vied from the bed. Just installed a 3/4 inch spacer in the top 2 mounting holes and longer bolts.

Hope you have a great time with the new rig.......

Chuck

Also one other thing we found out. the tv in the front will not work when th egen is running going down the road. We had the grand kids with us and wanted to have them watch a movie while we where in route. So I had to unplug the tv and run a cord the the wall outlet in the dinning booth and it worked well.

Just a quick note.
