New Guy --- 2000 Eagle 14SO
Hello World... (IT guys will get that)
So I'm new to the popup camper world, just bought a 2000 Eagle 14SO last fall. I was looking for something with dual axles and got a lot more camper than I was expecting! Don't get me wrong, I'm digging the slide out and the king beds! Now I have some work to do and I'm hoping I can find help, or at least ideas, here on this forum.
We've got our first road trip planned for early June, heading to Mt Rushmore for 6 days. Since we never did the trailer camping before we're staying at the KOA there but I've heard there are a lot of other great places to stay all over. I'd love to hear from anyone that has some input about trailer camping - do's and don't's, rookie mistakes, or anything else you can think of that my be helpful. I'll be traveling with my wife and two kids, 5 and 7, so I'm sure there's going to be challenges!
I'm also looking for anyone that has done useful mods to the camper, solar lights and battery charging system, extra storage and other things like that. I'm probably not going to make any bug changes this year but who knows, once I'm on the road I may need some changes - like an A/C unit, we don't have one and I'm not sure if we're going to need one.
