Cool New guy from West Virginia. (Not western Virginia either) 2017 28BHBE.

Hi!

I just purchased a new 2017 28BHBE with the Elite package today. I'm working night shift right now (6pm-6am) and after taking a 3-4hr nap in the morning, we will be heading out on first trip with it.

Anyone else from West Virginia on here?

I have been reading this forum for a couple of weeks and see most people prefer towing with a 2500 or 3500. Understandable. I have only towed from dealership to home right now with my 1500. I think it towed fine. handled great! I use the Fastway e2 weight distribution/sway control hitch setup. Truck and camper sit level. With my work schedule, I am only guaranteed 2 weekends off a month so, I think the 1500 will be fine for me since we don't go any further than 2-3hrs away. Usually only an hour away.

I traded in my 2014 Shamrock 19 hybrid for the Jay Flight. We loved the hybrid! But, our son is getting older and is going to start inviting friends to go along so...we wanted to upgrade to something bigger.

Welcome to the forum. I live in the Panhandle so I am not sure that really counts as WV. Just kidding. Go Mountaineers!! Have a fun and safe trip.

Welcome to JOF.
Enjoy the rig before the cold sets in for this year. You will know soon enough if the truck is not going to do the job.

I'm here to tell everyone...a 2013 RAM 1500 4x4 with 3.55 gears will tow a 6800# (dry) Jay Flight with absolutely no problems!! Did not struggle at all!

Very happy I got this Jayco!

I couldn't be happier with the way my RAM 1500 towed the BHBE. I guess a 2500 or 3500 would be better but, all I've ever towed with before was my 1500. So, I dialed in my brake controller and WDH was setup to make TV and TT sit level. I was very pleased with how it towed.
