New Guy Intro

Hi Everyone,

AJ here from the Salt Lake City area (originally from CT). Grew up with my parents having an RV and I hated every second of camping with them. Married for 20 years and my wife has wanted to get one forever but I always resisted. Last year after I retired from the Air Force we bought a 2021 212QBW Rocky Mountain Baja edition since I finally decided to stop being a wimp and give it a shot again. I was always nervous about towing, and we drove from Utah to Montana to pick ours up, and I had to drive it back through the mountains in a windstorm. My fears were quickly alleviated and I cant emphasize how much I have loved getting out on the road so far. We've only done 6 or 7 trips but I've had an absolute blast and have trips scheduled this summer to CO, WY, ID, UT, and MT. Wanted to join up because I still have tons of questions that I'm hoping ya'll can help me with. Happy to be a part of the community!

Welcome from Northeast Illinois. Like you I grew up camping with my parents, but unlike you I loved it. I badgered my wife for years to get a camper and we are now on our second one. I'm a third generation RVer and my kids seem to love it as much as I did.

Thank you for your service in the Air Force. There are a lot of veterans here. I served in the Army from 1996-2010. You will find that military service is good practice for the problem solving skills and self reliance you will need when something breaks down at the worst moment when you are RVing. It's sure an adventure!

Congrats! Sounds like you're off to a great start. Thank you for your service! There really is no better way, in my opinion, to get out and enjoy the country you spent most your adult life in service of.

Welcome from Missouri!
