Welcome Aboard from King George VA....
You sure have a bunch of great camping spots in NC to discover....
What we do with our new to us toys is setup in the back yard or driveway and do some real camping over night to check out how things work and what to start stocking up with. Your battery system needs to be operational before you pull your trailer over the public roads to satisfy DOT Safety requirements in case your trailer breaks away from your truck when in travel mode. the Battery then activates your Electric Brakes and stops your run-away trailer.
It's not all that easy to figure out what to bring along on camping trips as alot of it depends on how you like to camp. Spending a few nights close to home and a Lowes or WALMART will get you going in good style real quick.
You can pick up a 120VAC RV 30AMP to 15Amp Long Dogbone type adapter cable to plug into your garage 120VAc Receptacle. It will run most everything in your trailer but you may have to watch what is ON at the same time otherwise it will trip your garage breaker.
We do this all the time when we are parked at home so we can cleanup and experiment with different mods to things we want to do...
Being an older used trailer you will want to find the mods the previous owner has done so you can understand them haha...
We go down to the Smoky Mtns at Gatlinburg and love to camp inside the Natl park at ELKMONT Camp. Then we will venture down into NC and find a few more places to camp on next trip.
We are setup big time for OFF-ROAD camping in our OFF-ROAD POPUP trailer...
Welcome aboard again...
