Welcome to another hummingbird owner. Ours is a 2017 17RB. We have used it a full season and love it. See my profile for pics if you wish.

I assume that you purchased your Hummingbird at Rick’s RV? We purchased our Jay Flight 21QB there two years ago, they are a great dealership to work with.

Yes we did. Mike was great to work with. Really friendly dealership.

Make sure you check it over carefully before you take it from the dealer. They use real short screws in the drawers and the drawers become unhooked from the guides after a few miles. Also, check the trim inside the trailer to make sure it is properly placed and glued and make sure the latch on the screen door is properly attached. These were all issues on my new Hummingbird last year.

We checked it very closely when we picked it up. Had to fix a screw on the little fold out ledge under the tv, and there was a scrapped decal om the left side that has to be fixed yet.

We took it out for an 80 mile or so test tow and eveything looks pretty good. The only issue I see inside is the trim around the top of the murphy bed...might have to that taken care of.

But quite pleased so far. We "camped out" in the yard Chriatmas Eve so we could wake up in out Christmas present [emoji6]

Welcome to the club. We love our Hummingbird. Perfect for two. Tows very well with both our rigs in all terrain. Sleeps just fine. Which leads . . .

To your bed question: A Costco Novaform 3" warm side/cool side topper will juice the bed comfort at a pretty reasonable price.

Happy Camping!

17rk

I bought a 2017 new 17RK. I only have two complaints, the shower is really unusable . The worst is you can not find or get to the bypass valve to winterize . I'm assuming its under the extremely heavy mattress but there is no information in the manual or online to say where it is. All I get from the dealer is "Honey its texas you don't need to worry about that "

You are correct, under the mattress on the dinette side. Mine had the plywood wood base already cut for access. I held the mattress up with a short piece of 2X4 and it wasn't that bad.

I'll try the 2x4, I already drain everything and did a blow out , added a little rv antifreeze in all traps. I'll rinse real good in the spring
