new Jayco Eagle owner

Hello, my name is Glenn. I just purchased a slightly used 2013 Eagle 266RKS travel trailer. I love it even though we haven't camped in it yet. I am impressed with the quality of the interior. I am curious about the grill that could be used in the bracket that is on the rear bumper, I didn't get the grill. Does anyone out there use the sidekick grill on the bumper?
Thanks!

Welcome to JOF and to Jayco campers. There a number of threads on the sidekick grill, aka RVQ grill. They get mixed reviews. IMO, if you have to buy one you can do lots better. I have a Weber 120 and there are lots of good ones to choose from.

bumper mount grill

Thanks. I see that many people don't like the sidekick grill. I have a Weber Q so I might try to make a bracket that will mount to the bumper and hold the Weber. I understand that the Weber needs high pressure propane so I will still have to use the disposable fuel canisters (I won't be able to connect to the supply line on the Jayco). This will give me a project to work on. Thanks for your input!

There is a thread here on a easy mod to your Weber Q that lets you use the low pressure supply.

I have the rear grill also on my rear bumper also. Give me a minute and I'll run down to my garage and get you the manufacturer. The grill was ordered when I bought the trailer.

One manufacturer was a company called DDR. The other grill says RV500 side kick grill. The DDR one came with my 2017 Eagle HT. If no luck just call Jayco. Good luck.

Hi, Both my last trailer and my present 5th wheel came with a grill. I ordered it from my dealer through Jayco when I ordered the trailers. I will forward you both names of the grills shortly. I don't have any complaints with the grill that attaches to the bumper. Like it beter than the previous one that attached to the side of the travel trailer.
