New Jayco Owner

Hello all,

Just joined, trying o find out more about our latest purchase. We recently upgraded from our 1980 Glendale Glendette 20' to a 2006 31 BHS.

Spent the March break cleaning it from top to bottom - moved a few things arouns, got a few shelves to build inside yet. And it needs a good coat of wax - but that's a lot bigger job on the new one compared to our old trailer!

Looking forward to the upcoming season!

Welcome to the Forum and CONGRATS on the new (to you) Jayco.
It's a good looking TT. What did you do with the older TT? Trade or sell or keep it?
The waxing part takes the longest, but the outcome is worth while.
I usually take my time and take a few greaks with an adult beverage or two per break. It seems to take a little longer, but it sure looks really good when it's done.

Welcome to the Jayco Owners' Forum, GMC Driver.

That photo of the 1980 Glendetta brings back fond memories of our very first tt--a 23 ft. Prowler that we towed with our passenger car.

Looks like you got a really clean '06 Jayco. Should last you for years to come.

Post often with questions, experiences and photos of campsites.

The 1980 Glendale was purchased by my parents in 1990. They owned it until 2003, when they bought a 5'ver, and sold it to me and my wife. We had two kids at the time.

Since that time, our family has grown (to 4 kids now). We wanted something a little larger to accomodate travelling, and not having to make and pack up sleeping arrangements every stop. The bunk house should serve us well for this purpose.

We have sold the 1980 to my sister and B-I-L, so it will stay in the family! It is a great trailer, in excellent shape, always cared for and winter stored. We're happy that they're getting it.

I can also attest that as much as I like our new Jayco - they certainly don't build them quite as stout as the old one! The Glendale was a Canadian manufacturer - also made Golden Falcon and Titanium trailers. Unfortunately, they have fallen vicitm to the economic climate of the recent past, and are now out of business.
