This may seem like a dumb question...
I know the Pinnacle and North Point are both at the top of the Jayco lines, but I've always been curious what the differences are.?.

What a warm welcome! Thanks again to everyone that posted. We're anxious to get our new camper out in the woods and enjoy her.

We're fortunate to be able to store it here at our house. Today our plan is to go to the truck scales and weigh it and the truck before we start loading all our gear into it. After that, we plan to hook up our DirecTV system and see what, if any, challenges we have with that.

We didn't look at the North Point line so I'm not very familiar with it but some of the more notable differences (as I understand them) are:

The Pinnacle is a wide body unit. It is 102" wide compared to the North Point being the standard 96".

The Pinnacle has the Jay Command system. This allows you to control certain functions of the unit from a phone or tablet.

The Pinnacle has a rear fiberglass cap.

The Pinnacle comes with MORryde LRE 4000 suspension, the North Point comes with MORryde CRE 3000.

The Pinnacle has real wood cabinet stiles.

The Pinnacle has day/night shades and I've read that the North Point has night shades only.

Pinnacle has a powered 50 amp cord reel.

Pinnacle has a tire pressure monitoring system.

Pinnacle now comes with hydraulic auto leveling system. North Point uses an Electric auto leveling system.

Again, not real familiar with the North Point line. Hopefully a NP owner will chime in and point out other potential differences or correct any I pointed out that are incorrect.

If you are buying receivers for your Pinnacle instead of taking one from your house, you will want to deactivate them with DirecTV when you are going to store (not use) your FW for 3 or more months. We only camp from April thru October. We have 2 DirecTV receivers in our Pinnacle (need 3) and we save $20 plus tax per month from November thru March. I activate them a couple of weeks before our first trip (usually when I'm de-winterizing) and I deactivate the receivers when I winterize the FW.

Thanks for the tip. We might have to look into that at some point. For now, we just bring our receivers from home. We're still weekend warriors with a couple of longer trips here and there and that seems to work for us. I like the thought of not having to disconnect/re-connect the receivers every time we go out though.
