New Jayco owner and week that we will never forget

Last Sunday my wife and I brought home a brand new 2013 Jay Flight 26BH. When our second child was born a few years ago we sold our old Jayco tent trailer as we knew we needed an upgrade and the 26BH fit our needs perfectly. The tent trailer had been used as my hunting rig and for family camping. Anyway, the whole family was terribly excited on this last holiday Monday shopping, stocking and preparing our new trailer even though we knew it would be a month or so before we got her out.

Monday evening things took a turn, our 2 year old son fell ill. At 3:00AM my wife ushered the poor boy off to our local children's hospital. I don't need to go through all the detatils but this was the most difficult week i have ever experianced as a parent or a person, lots of scary moments and uncertainty. To make a long story short he was discharged from the hospital today with a fantastic prognosis.

So we now focus with increased enthusiasm the impotance of family and our time on this earth. Nothing like seeing how fragile life is to gain a little perspective. We are excited now more than evere for our family time with this new trailer.

Paul

PS I did have sometime when his condition began to improve to find several useful tips on this forum while living in a hospital room this week. Glad this forum was here to help pass the time.

Welcome to the forum.

I am very happy that your son has been discharged and doing better. We live in Lemoore and have had lots of experience with all the amazing things CHCC is able to do...we are very fortunate to have it it here in the valley!

So happy things are improving for your boy.
Nothing worse for a parent that to have a serious illness with one of the kids.
We all need to be thankful for what we have been blessed with.
Camping is a great way to build the family bonds and make memories for a lifetime.
Glad you touched base with the folks here on the forum to pass the time.
I feel like I have made a lot of friends here even though we've never met.

In our thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery.

Best regards,
Doug

Paul,

Welcome to JOF

Yes, having a child fall seriously ill suddenly can turn a parent's world up-side-down in a heartbeat...., and I can appreciate the comfort it brings to you and your wife having your son back home in good health.

Won't be long now .......

Bob

Congratulations on your new Jayco and welcome aboard.

More importantly, the news about your son's fantastic pronosis was great news in your post. Family camping is a great way to spend quality time with your family.

Hoping for the best for you and your family.
