New Jayco owner from RI
Greetings all, I wanted to introduce myself. I just purchased a used Octane 222 for my family. My wife and I have three sons under 10 and I’m in the military so the toy hauler made sense to pull double duty as a camper and a cargo trailer with as often as I move. I would have liked a bigger unit but am smart enough to not confuse what I would actually WANT to tow vs what Ford says my F150 (Supercrew 6.5 ft bed, 4x4, 5.0 with 3.55s) CAN tow, so I opted for the 222. I’ve done my fair share of tent camping (both in and out of the Marines) but I’m new to owning a trailer. Please feel free to jump in with what items/accessories I should buy or any to avoid, because I presume to know nothing.
Thanks,
Pete

Congrats on the new to you Octane and, welcome to JOF Pete. Best piece of advise I was given, other drivers expect you to go slow - don’t disappoint them.
Thanks for serving.

Congratulations, welcome and thank you for your service!
Best advice we got when starting out was to take it nice and slow, and double check everything.
