New Jayco Owner from SE Missouri

Greetings. My wife and I have been towing a Coleman pop-up for 25 years and have finally upgraded. Just bought a 2008 Jay Feather 25F. Really looking forward to not having to drive to the restroom in the middle of the night! And of course the immense size step up from our Coleman. It's great to be a part of this forum.

Thanks,

Jim

Congrats on your new Jayco and welcome to the forum from Indiana!

As you are aware of the size change, I recommend some practice in an empty parking lot with cornering and backing so you can get the feel of how your Jayco tracks your tow vehicle and how it responds when backing up. I purchased 2 orange cones (but you can use anything) to simulate the opening of a campsite and practice backing between the cones.

Slow and patience is the key! You will get the hang of it no time. Don't hesitate to drive around the campsite to change your angle of entry. We have all had to do it at one point or another.

Welcome from Northeast Illinois. We upgraded from a popup to a travel trailer last year. It's a world of difference--some good, some bad. I sure do miss the cool night breezes when I opened up all the canvas, but certainly not putting away wet canvas and having to open up the entire trailer just to load the fridge. I also miss how easy to tow my popup was, and how I could get into just about any gas station. Not so much with a 32' brick behind me. Like you, I don't miss 2am treks to the bathhouse in a rain storm. I hope you love the new trailer!
