New Jayco WH owner
Hello all,
We are Nicholas and Marie Pellecchia from Laurel Delaware.
My wife and I have recently purchased a new Jayco whitehawk 30rls and decided to join the forum for a bit of further insight and enjoyment. We have been rv'ing for perhaps 20 years and have gone thru several trailers, this one more than likely being the final. We started out with a hard sided pop-out ends which I really enjoyed but Marie, my wife had issues with the comfort factor, so decided to upgrade to a very nice Trail-bay 27ds, which served us very well for at least 13 years. We put alot of mileage on those tires, from Canada to Florida. Never west of the mississippi. 3 years ago picked up a very nice Sunset Trail and kept that until 5 months ago when we decided it was time to pick up a very nice Jayco. I liked the Whitehawk 30rls from the first time I saw it, but hard to locate within a several hundred mile radius. Only one available, with most of the bells and whistles so we bought and have been content with it ever since. We pull it pretty effortlessly with a 2012 Ford exp 5.4L with factory HD towing package. Two weeks after purchase we drove down to NC and lived in it for two months while doing volunteer work. The trailer was very comfortable, having adequate stretching room for 2 adults and our sheltie dog Molly. The living area in this unit is perfect with a very nice view of the large 47 inch Furion TV. The Bedroom is very spacious and once we exchanged mattresses, very comfortable. This unit has a forward couch which was nice for watching private tv/reading. A small 24 inch tv worked very nicely mounted up on the wall opposite the slideout bed. Of course every trailer comes with a slight problem, so let me outline what we personally have/had an issue with. Jayco builds these whitehawk units with a large window up front which will soak up any heat from the sun and transfer to the inside of the unit. Temps reached over 100 degrees next to window. I have notified Jayco regarding this issue, so perhaps future units may incorporate either an outside canvas snap cover or maybe a physical folddown cover. We'll see. The unit should be parked under trees while camping or faced in the northerly direction. But, other than that it has proven itself to be a very able camper. Expect to be heading up to Boston this September with it. WIll be staying at the big state park there in Hingham, just about 10 minutes from the ferry which run over to the docks in the visiting area of Boston. What a fantastic city. The hop on hop off ferry is right there. OK, so I talk too much but love RV'ing. Trying to convince Marie to go cross country, but she is not that enthusiastic about leaving the eastern side of the USA. Thanks for reading.

Just put a deposit on 30 RLS one in stock. But will pick in July as I will be traveling 6 weeks to east coast. Any word of advise for pre inspection or any issues besides the one you mentioned. My first travel trailer.
Love the floor plan.

Whitehawk, Welcome to the forum from Upstate NY...(VT,MA,NY, Border)
I have seen guys use automotive reflective window tint to keep some of the heat out. I wound up adding a 2nd AC unit to my rig..........Big thumbs up!
