New Melborne 24K

Hello all.... glad to find this forum. I just bought a new leftover 2017 Melbourne 24K, having downsized from a 38 foot Monaco Class A.... put about 1500 miles on it in the last three weeks and I really like how it goes down the road.... the 2 1/2 to 3 times the fuel mileage is pretty nice as well... adjusting to the smaller space has gone well... I pretty much full time, staying in warm weather and ride the Harley. DW

As far as fuel mileage goes... New and relatively empty, I was getting just over 17mpg... With a light load and 1600 pounds of bike trailer, it dropped to just under 16 on a 700 mile trip. I left yesterday for 8 months across the country with a full load and the trailer at 3200 pounds and averaged 14.4MPG over 1046 miles from Maine to NC pulling all the mountains on rt81 through VA etc. not too bad seeing as how I ran her 65-70 MPH most of the way. It pulls the hills nice and handles great. The whole deal now weighs 14422 on CAT scales. Hope this helps.

I don’t seem to see the MPGs others are seeing. 20k miles checking every tank. Best 15mpg worst 12mpg.

Decided to finally stop keeping averages. Last trip still averaged about 12 MPG. Here was the old sheet. Maybe if the speed limit would drop back to 55 MPH some of these supposed averages might turn into a reality. Until then I can only hope for the days when diesel was less than gasoline.

I have learned to enjoy slower speeds for the most part. I manage to keep it around 62mph for most of the tank and since I did that I average in the 13's even pulling a 2,000 toad.
