New member 2013 jay series 12 bs-questions regarding bike rack

We just purchased our first pup-a 2013 jay series sport 12 bs. We have a Thule bike rack that hooks to a trailer hitch and weren't sure if we could attach a trailer hitch to the back of the pup to attach the rack. If this isn't a good idea, can anyone recommend a better way to bring 2 bicycles?

I've seen PUPs with bike racks mounted to the roof. I would research that or putting a roof rack on your tow vehicle.

I'm going against conventional concern this year and I'm mounting a bike platform to my 4" square tube bumper....going lightweight all the way. Firstly - the Swagman bike platform (at under 20#) is 1/2 the weight of a 4" bumper receiver and my old Yakima Bike rack. I sold our steel bikes and found a great deal on his/her aluminum bikes on Craigs List (saved another 20#). I took the existing 50# spare tire and rack off the bumper and I'm throwing the tire in the trunk of the TV.

I don't own a p'up....but mounting bikes to the top of your TT will add a "touchy" mandatory process in making / breaking camp (which can happen in the rain or dark as we know)....I'd look for the path of least resistance...JMHO

Have you looked into folding bikes?....Be interested to hear what you decide

Towing with a Toyota 4Runner V8. We were thinking of putting a rocket box on the roof of the 4Runner but need a way to take our mountain bikes with us.

Thanks!
