New member!
We just got a 27 ft Jayco Jay Lite travel trailer and we are pretty excited to try it out It has 2 purposes for us really. We have parents/inlaws that visit for the occasional weekend and we needed more space and privacy for short term visits. Although my husband wasn't sure about taking it out on the road initially he is warming to the idea and showing more interest in local campsites that we can visit for overnights to get our feet wet and fix any logistical problems while we are close to home. Husband and I did not grow up RV-ing or camping really. We never really expected to own an RV given our backgrounds but here we are! I'm looking forward to getting lots of tips. My biggest fear is learning to drive with a trailer!

Welcome and congrats! We were in your same situation when we bought ours, and we love taking it out. The folks here are great and very helpful.

Hey! Never thought I would own one either, but love it and the camping. Wish I had started 4 decades ago.

Enjoy and have fun. You will make many memories. Just find a nice big mall parking lot or school ground that is empty and practice maneuvering around. You will get the hang of it quicker than you think. That's what I did, about 45 years ago, and still going strong.

Welcome to the jof from texas, camping is alot of fun , my suggestion would be to make sure that your tow vehicle and your hitch is appropriate for your trailer also as far as confidence when towing you can set up cones in a large empty parking lot to learn to back up and turn. Also local rv dealer can also refer to some one that can teach you all to handle the rv . More confidence more wanting to camp, make sense just my two
