New member and owner from California

Greetings from Central California. We're first time owners of a trailer and look forward to learning a lot. We bought a 2011 Starcraft 175RK, the twin of the Jayco 17C last month, but have yet to take it out. It will be quite a change, from tent directly to hybrid. Here's a pic of the trailer and tow vehicle at home.

Welcome to the Jayco Owners Forum Tom and Jill! You will love your choice to upgrade to the hybrid. I remember it taking us an hour to set-up tents for sleep and storage/etc. When we got the tent trailer, we were ready to bbq/play in 20 minutes. The hybrid is even sweeter being hard-sided and no popping up! Where/when will be your maiden voyage?

When we have some free time we'll either head up to the local mountains or go over to Pismo or Morro Bay.

Have not really camped at Pismo since I went to Cal Poly and that's a lot of years ago! My next door neighbor has an Airstream Bambi and he's camped at Pacific Dunes RV Resort. Our daughter-in-law's parents camp quite a bit a Pismo Coast Village. My neighbor also likes to go to Morro Bay State Park. We'll probably caravan with them over to the coast in the near future.

Thanks. We rented a house in Pismo back in April when our youngest son got married there. It was near Pismo Coast Village where our daughter-in-laws parents were staying in their 5th wheel. It looked like a pretty nice park with a lot of shade trees.

I also went to Cal Poly! I love the SLO area. I spent a lot of my free time studying near the creek

We have stayed at Coast Village and loved it. It's been a few years though. A couple years back we took our granddaughters to the State Park to camp. It was nice being near the beach, but didn't have a bath/shower so had to use the public facilities. Bummer, they were filthy. Surprising, they weren't even busy that weekend. We haven't camped at Morro Bay, but we occasionally kayak up there. Have a great time wherever you wind up!
