Smile New Member from BC

Hello and Greetings to all Jayco owners. As a retired, single senior I have taken the plunge, sold my acreage, purged all material chattels and am now about to jump into a 2020 382 FLRB. In search of freedom and happiness I am seriously looking forward to reconnecting with the fabulous RV community, travel as and when the spirit moves me, and spending time throughout CAN and USA visiting with family.

Although I did spend one year (2012) hauling a 42' 5th wheel around NA I am new to this plan of FT living in an RV.

I look forward to meeting/connecting with other Jayco travellers.

Welcome and safe travels!
Since you are from BC, what are your recommendations for camp sites to visit in BC? We have 43ft Fifth Wheel and looking forward to getting up to Canada soon when I retire...

Thank you for your warm welcome. As to your question about sites to visit...that is a tough one! Having lived in BC all my life ( in houses) I don't have much personal experience with RV sites throughout the province. I have however travelled all over the province and am certain that there would be something that you might like in all corners. What would you be looking for? near metropolitan area? lake/water front? horse country? ski/mountain country?..just so much to choose from.

Welcome from Northern CA. And thanks for B.C. We really loved our multiple vacations up there.

with that additional information (remote, mountains etc.) I will suggest that you look at the Duffy Lake road route to Lillooet in the Fraser Canyon. Starting from Vancouver head towards Whistler Mountain, Pemberton and the Duffy Lake Road onward. Along the way are numerous remote sites with spectacular mountain/glacier views and areas. Once in Lillooet you can choose to head north to the lovely Cariboo (horse/cattle country) or turn south and visit the lake/fruit growing region of the Okanagan. Enjoy!

We have traveled extensively in BC and Alberta. The OP is on Vancouver Island and the ferry cost is expensive but worth it. It’s tough with large RV’s on the island but Living Forest in Nanaimo should have spots you can fit in. Anywhere on the Straits of Georgia is beautiful. Rathtrevor and Miracle Beach are really nice parks. Inland is Strathcona PP which has great boondocking sites on the shores of Buttle lake but beware of bears and cougars, we saw both! The ferry from Anacortes, WA is less expensive but the Tsawassenn, BC ferry is quicker. On the mainland there’s a really nice park at Cultus Lake and a decent KOA in Salmon Arm, up further is Wells Gray PP.
