Talking New member from Central Illinois

We have been campers for over 30 years. From tents to popups to our current TT. We have a 2013 Pinnacle 36KPTS on order. We hope to pick it up around the 4th of July.
I just recently retired and am volunteering for the COE at Lake Shelbyville, Illinois. My wife will work till the end of the year then we will head South for the winter.
I have been on this site for awhile. Looks like lots of good information to be found.

Welcome to the forum - Me from the Mt.Vernon, IL area (home town Bonnie) but live in Virginia now... I still claim to be an old Southern Ill corn field dirt farmer with roots from the HORSE CREEK country of Jefferson and Wayne counties. My sister and her bubby from the Martin IGA Grocery Stores who lives in the Effingham area make the trip every year to the FLA resorts for a three month or more more. They usually leave your area in Jan and come back in the April time frame. Stop in the main IGA store in Effingham and talk with owner Newlin Martin. They run in a big ole Montana fifth wheel... I bet they know all about the COE Lake Camping at Shelbyville.

Welcome to the Forum. We live just outside Alton, IL. I have considered Shelbyville as a trip but I haven't been there since I was a little boy. Are the campgrounds nice and which would you recommend with full hook ups?

Bed685, the best campground for full hookups is Forrest "Bo" Woods. It is a COE campground and it is all new within the last 3 or 4 years. They have several first come first serve full hookups and I think some are reserveable.
Farmer Dave, I am at Coon Creek for the summer. I will be pulling back in on the 4th after we get the new 5th wheel set up.:hihi:

We live just north of Mattoon and camped at Bo Woods last month. Maybe we will take a drive through Coon Creek and check out your new Pinnacle in the near future.
