Welcome to the forum. I guess we're neighbors. I'm your neighbor from across the river in Nebraska.

Question Wiscampin how well does your stove top stay on your stove going down the road? Also is there anyway I could get blueprints on how you made this modification. My little misses would love to have a cook top cover such as yours.
Thanks

We're on a seasonal site right now so it stays pretty good. But when we were travelling I would put it on the floor under the dinette table and it stayed there real good. DW really likes the extra food prep space. No real blueprints, just a piece of 5/8" sanded plywood I had laying around. I cut it about 3" bigger than the stovetop side to side. For depth I added 2" more that the stovetop. Sides are 2" tall. Top is glued and nailed to the sides, nail holes filled in, and then stained as close as I could to match existing cabinet color with whatever stain I had on hand. I did put on 4 coats of satin poly on the top. You can't see them but there are small rubber feet on each bottom corner to keep it from sliding on the countertop when slicing, dicing, etc.

Edit: I just looked at the pic in my webshots and you can barely see one of the rubber feet on the front right side. Got 'em from Home Depot
