New Member Intro

Just joined and was activated on the forums. Currently live in Virginia Beach, VA and have since 1991. I was retired by the City of Virginia Beach Police Department in 2006 after being hit by a drunk driver.

I started camping in 1998. I race offroad motorcycles and many people camp at the events to avoid a long drive on the day of the event. We started out in a tent. We graduated to an enclosed trailer with an air mattress. In 2007 we purchased a CrossRoads Cross Terrain toy hauler fifth-wheel. We have used that rig to travel the entire east coast of the USA. We have raced events from Daytona Florida to upstate NY and everywhere in between.

We started running a trackside business at the events and quickly outgrew the weight capacity of the fifth-wheel. We love that unit but we had to park it. I purchased a 24 foot enclosed car trailer that was setup as a vending trailer with a side window. So we were back to camping in an enclosed trailer on a great futon we found.

I have searched for over a year for a super C to purchase to tow the 24 foot trailer so we could have a camper at the events again. The super C's we were finding were either completely worn out and trashed or way, way out of our price range.

We traveled to Bill Plemmons RV this past weekend to check out three super C's they had on the lot. We signed the paperwork for a 2009 Jayco Seneca HD 36MS and can't wait to pick it up and use it. They're fixing a few minor items in the camper before we take delivery.

Can't wait to learn more and hope to enjoy my time on the forum.

Welcome, saw the post on RVNet and glad you are now here. Hope the Seneca fits the bill because the Jaycos are great for quality.

Enjoy the forum.

From the Eastern Shore, Welcome to the forum, Crazy Ted! Do you ever venture across the CBBT to camp? Kiptopeke SP is one of our favorites. We went across the bridge the other way and stayed at Chippokes SP for Thanksgiving.

Yup, we venture across the CBBT many times, usually on the way to races in DE or NJ. We haven't camped over there yet but use the state park to dump our tanks in our old 5th wheel many times.

As for what I race. I race offroad bikes in hare scrambles and enduros. Main series is the Virginia Championship Hare Scrambles Series. I also race the Northeast Offroad Championship, the GNCC's, Nat'l Enduro's, and the occassional East Coast Enduro Assoc hare scramble or enduro.

I currently race a Husaberg FX450 and have raced KTM's since the mid 90's. At one point I worked at a KTM shop as the four-stroke tech before the owner retired. I currently run my own trackside support shop called CrazyTed's Racing.

I havn't raced in years. It takes to long to recover these days. I do ride quads in the desert. We spend winters in Az.

Yup, we race in the tight woods on the east coast. As for recovery, can be hard for me with my handicap and being 41......but we manage. It really stunk when the docs made me stop riding for awhile. No more docs so back to riding!!!
