New Member, White Hawk 28DSBH

Hello,

I just wanted to intro myself to the group. I'm Mark and we have on order a 2012 White Hawk 28DSBH. We are trading in our 08 Jay Flight 28BHS. We liked the 28BHS but DW wanted the larger slide and dual double bunks. Far be it from me to talk her out of buying a new camper! We heard from the dealer earlier in the week that Jayco said our trailer was scheduled to run today. We are very excited, can hardly sleep. We heard from our campground owner that he may opening early due to the unseasonably warm weather we are having. We keep our trailer at a seasonal site in central MN.

Happy camping,

Mark in MN

Welcome to the forum Mark and congrats on your 2012 White Hawk 28DSBH. Don't get fooled with this weather, I'm betting on snow one more time. The good thing is it'll melt fast. I was at our seasonally parked camper mid April last year and woke up to 6".

I just bought the 2011 Eagle 284bhs in the fall. I just saw the camper you purchased. If I only knew. It weight over a 1,000 lbs less. Got a qoute from Rvdirect of $19,750 which is not bad either. What can you do, the good thing is my camper is great.

Thanks everyone. I'm wondering if anyone that has received their 28dsbh has had a chance to post their first impressions/photos.

Hi Mark,

We just picked up our White Hawk 28DSBH last Friday. Love it so far, great to tow. We drove 5 1/2 hours back from the dealer. The wide stance on the tandem axles make it really stable. Trucks were blowing by me and I was getting no sway at all. The finishing and the quality inside and out are great. Can't wait to go camping in it.

Have fun with yours, if you encounter anything warranty related let me know and I will do the same.

Cheers,
Dean

Saw my Whitehawk 28dsbh last night. It still needs to be cleaned and inspected first ( put through PDI ). We pick it up next Thursday. I'm very impressed with how big the double bunks are. The sticker on the top bunk says it is rated for 600 lbs weight. I have noticed some things are not the same on my unit compared to some other dealer pictures and the youtube videos. I'll have to sort that out. Heading to the Dealership tomorrow to drop off a Fantastic Fan 5000 to have installed. I'll have another look for sure. Might bring my lunch....

Enjoy your new Trailers and don't forget to vote in the " Travel Trailer " Poll.

Our top bunk has a 300lbs rating sticker. I wonder which is correct?

I know that smaller standard bunks in the other models say max wt. 300lbs. I also thought these were supposed to be max 300lbs but then I saw that sticker. I'm not sure what to think. I climbed up and I'm a heavy guy and it felt very solid. I'll take a picture of the sticker when I pick it up and post it.

I have a power awning and mine looks different than all the other pictures/videos I've seen of these units. Not sure why it wouldn't be the same all around.

Another White Hawk 28DSBH owner....

Congrats on your new TT...we too have the White Hawk 28DSBH. Picked it up the end of March and have already spent our first long weekend in Canada in it and loved it. Wide stance axles made it very easy to tow...only issue we had, but we already knew about prior to picking it up was the RCA TV was not working. The dealer did get a second one installed before we left but it too did not work...not sure if RCA is having issues with their TVs.
Nonetheless, it is being replaced...we don't tend to watch TV when camping so was not a huge deal...I must say though...sleeping in a trailer is much better than sleeping in a tent...the White Hawk is our first TT.

Cheers.

Delivered!

Hi, Just an update. Camper was delivered and all looked good except for a dent in the front diamond plate. They ordered the repalcement before I even saw the camper. Here is a pic:

We delivered it to our seasonal site on Friday and was all setup by Friday night. Looking forward to a great summer with the family!
