New Owner 2015 Seneca

Hello to Jayco Owners Forum,

I am a new owner of a 2015 Seneca HJ. This site is an amazing resource! Thank you all for your posts. I would like to especially thank ROBBYR and RUSTYNUTS for their posts. Y’all are the Seneca gurus! I definitely owe y’all a couple of cold beers. Your posts have saved me an amazing amout of time and have taught me a ton about this coach. Thank you gentlemen.

What are your thoughts so far in regard to power to weight ratio with that set up when climbing hills?

I am happy with it so far. I am looking into the Cummins uprate and transmission shift schedule change that has been talked about by other owners on the forum.

I had both upgrades, huge difference. But my transmission came (mistakenly) programmed with an "ultra economy" shift schedule as "primary". Our transmission control modules can hold two shift programs but Freightliner/Jayco provided no way to switch between them. It has to be done by hooking the rig up and changing the shift schedule. A number of folks had Allison change the performance shift schedule to "primary". I (and a few others) had a custom performance schedule uploaded provided by Allison. In my case it made my rig perform like a totally different animal. And the extra power provided by a Cummins horsepower/torque uprate was icing on the cake.

I used to be in the line of semi trucks slogging up the long interstate grades with my hazard flashers on. Now I am passing all those trucks. Obviously there are some very long and/or steep hills where I'm slowed below the speed limit, but nowhere near like before!
