New Seneca

We will take possession of our new 2018 Seneca next week..
Not new to RV'ing. This will be our 7th in 37 years but a new and different rig is always a challenge.

I rely heavily on forums to get info and modifications that people have done.
Have already found interesting info regarding Seneca floor mats..

One question, why is there no roof ladder on the 2018 Seneca?? Hmmm

Anyway, Happy Trails
I'll be reading

Pre-congratulations on your new Seneca! I have a 2014 I bought new and we still absolutely love it. My wife says my mods to it is my most expensive "hobby" so far. Still have more planned too!

I don't know if Jayco has ever voiced an official reason why many of their new units are now minus the ladder, many believe it may be a liability thing. Reportedly the mounting reinforcements are still there should an owner wish to add one, but a call to Jayco requesting specific locations would probably be wise if one pursues that addition.

I have a 14 foot telescoping ladder I carry, it is my "go-to" method to access my roof when on the road. Here at home it is my tall Little Giant ladder. Both are way more sturdy than the installed ladder I do have.

Let us know how things go once you have your unit.

Jayco eliminated the rear ladder on all new motorhomes beginning with the 2017 model year. That was one of the factors in my decision to purchase a 2016 from the previous model year instead of a new 2017. As the previous post states you might be able to install a ladder after the fact if the mounts are there but Jayco will not do it for you. Congratulations on your new rig and welcome to the JOF.
